2.55 Newmarket – Betfair Supporting The Animal Health Trust Handicap
I haven’t managed to have a proper look today so I’m taking a bit of a shot in the dark with this selection. It’s a competitive race and while I haven’t delved into the formbook proper I hope I have a strong enough grasp to warrant this bet. The main reason for selecting this horse is the price. The 20-1 on offer about CHEWOREE is tempting and looks like it will be my only bet of the day. David Elsworth has his string in fine form at the moment and is always a trainer to respect on the July course so I’m hoping his filly can outrun her price today. She looked to be progressing when she won on unfavourable soft ground at Windsor three wins back. She then went to York for a competitive handicap where she was an eye-catcher having fell out of the stalls. On her last run she was again sent to Windsor in the hope of getting back on track, but after being quite well-backed she put in a hugely disappointing effort under Richard Hughes. Hughes reported a breathing problem and a first time tongue tie has now been added. The hood she had been wearing is now back on so it looks as if connections are giving it ago. Liam Keniry gets on well with her and he is now back in the plate too. Her draw in one should be fine so fingers crossed she can run well.
